Initially, the screen display was of a text and prestel type format, now we are able to transmit high quality graphic images not just to all or individual terminals but to a world wide audience via the Internet.

Advertising design has also advanced with images captured using scanners or digital cameras and downloaded directly to the host computer, where existing artwork can be altered in style or content according to client requirements, to produce a full colour screen presentation.
